Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic is a Caribbean nation that shares the island of Hispaniola with Haiti to the West. It's known for its world class beaches and resorts. This beautiful country has the most diverse topography for a single nation in the Caribbean. You can experience a cool climate in a cloud forest just outside a small mountain town and three hours later you are sitting on a world class beach at sea level nurturing a suntan. Rainforests, savannah’s, highlands and mountain ranges blot the Dominican Republic and offer new experiences for those who simply look for them.

The Capital City is Santo Domingo, locally referred to as La Capital.  A truly modern city ensconced in the old architecture of its past, La Capital was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site as the first European Settlement of the Americas. The city offers a metropolitan scene with an exciting nightlife, hotels, restaurants and a flourishing gastronomy scene. The city is steeped in history and culture which can be explored through historical sites and museums. The Cathedral of Santa María la Menor, the very first Catholic Church in this hemisphere was completed in 1514 and still stands for you to explore.

With a melange of Taino, African, Asian, Middle Eastern and European roots, the Dominican people are exuberant and express culture in their form of dress, dance, food traditions and a quick dialect.
